Not actually offroaded the V8 yet, so was good to get it muddy. Have to say a Grand with quadradrive on 32″s and a mild lift is really good offroad, was going places it shouldn’t and not getting stuck 🙂

Well I am gettting codes 52, 54, & 56 from the heater and a random misting up, so the recirc door was broken (along with the heater blend doors).
Quick fix is to tie wrap the recirc door open to the outside air, just need to drop the blower motor and drill 4 holes.

The view up through the mounting hole where the blower motor sits, recirc door way just swaying loose.

View of the door with the glove box removed. Just drill 4 holes from the motor side and zip tie the door up against the plastic grill

And done. Much easier to use long ties and cut them short, space is tight to get hands in there
Lining up the short arms, gone to about 16″ or 408mm, should put the caster back on the steering and stop it being so light.

Fitted DT8000 shocks, currently on RC2.2’s and they are too soft for IRO 3″ springs, don’t control the bounce on the rear at all. Had DTs on the other Grand and prefer the firmer ride of them.

1.25″ less backspace than the steel wheels, and drives much better on the road for it. 245-75-17 Wrangler silent armour tyres on them.

Been after a set of these for a while, finally got a set for the Grand

Not going bigger than 3″ (said that with the last one!)
IRO 3″ springs fitted with Rough Country shocks & steering damper. The shocks are a bit too underdamped for my liking so swapping them out for a stiffer set. Also Need to fit the IRO adjustable front arms to get the steering caster back to how it should be.

Added a 1000BHP by adding a few stickers to the rear!

Swapped off the old Grand, they suit the silver colour better than the chrome lights I think.

The stock bulbs are too dark, so a kit of white LEDs was ordered off ebay

after (need to get a better shot without the flash)

Both the Cherokee & Grand Cherokee have been replaced with newer models
2007 2.8 CRD limited

2002 v8 Grand Cherokee

Old Cherokee has gone to a new home, Blue Grand is getting parted out 🙁
So finally go around to fitting new upper control arm bushes to the Grand, been putting it off for ages. 2 top tips, don’t use the cheap moulded bushes, use the ones with the pressed in center tubes, second, leave your new bushes in the freezer for a few days before fitting, they tap straight into the bush housings without the need to heat the housings.

So the Grand is now back on short arms, with an IRO 3″ lift fitted and vibration free 🙂 Pinion angle is set to somewhere I just couldn’t get to on the IRO long arm, there wasn’t enough adjustment. Jeep is taking up commuting duties for now, SAAB will be for sale.
