
Duk, 2 days old on the Yorkshire Moors, the first off road experience for
it, a muddy pool in a car park.
Right a few reasons for 15in wheels over the standard 16's

15's will only fit with a 30mm front spacer, may look into
doing this when I do the suspension.
For the moment I am going to fit some Goodyear MT/R's in 215-65-16 size.

This isn't as easy as I first thought, all modern Suzuki's have the same stud
pattern so I hoped the spare wheels I had off the old Jimny
would fit, not so. The front calipers touch the Jimny wheels, hence the odd
wheels in the snow during the xmas
laning.

But not by much and only due to the shape of the wheel.

The mangel steel wheels are a bit too small in the centre, this distance is 330mm, only 340mm is required to clear the caliper.

Now across here is 390mm, so the wheel would fit if I spaced out the wheel for the caliper to clear this lip

As the offset is marginal anyway a new set of wheels is required, off to look at a set on saturday 16th
Now one big weakness on the GV is the position and protection (lack of) the front diff casing, see below

Just asking to hit a rock!


Plan to look at options for skid plates, but as I want to fit a removable winch with the standard bumper I think fabricating up something may be the best way forward.
Now fitted a tow bar to the rear of the GV, apart from towing it also helps
to stop me ripping off the rear bumper.
The loom is accessible at the rear left of the car where the jack is stored (3 & 5 door only not XL) and behind the interior trim behind the right light cluster for the fog light wire.
Wire colours for 7pin electrics:

| Right Indicator | Green with Yellow trace |
| Brake Lights | Green with White trace and Silver banding |
| Fog Light | Green with Silver trace (note this is behind the right hand side light cluster not left) |
| Rear Light/Side Lights | Red with Yellow trace (us same wire for left and right outputs) |
Note this is what I found on my 3 door UK car, I you are not sure get an auto electrician to wire them up!
This comes from Mr RichieGV who has applied this mod
to his V6 with success.
It involves moving the air intake pipe into the front bulkhead where it is
fed from air vents around the base of the screen.

Basically the plate above goes into the bulkhead space where the heater is
and draws air from the vents below the screen. This space also has 1 way drain
plugs at the bottom so you would need to get alot of water into the top vents
before it entered the air intake.

The mod involves cutting a hole in the plate to suit, cutting the end off
the air intake into the wing and joining the 2 with flexi pipe.

You mustn't forget to seal the drain holes in the bottom of the air box though.
As soon as I find some pipe I will be hacking the hole and posting the pics
here.
My only concern is the effect it may have on the fan blower into the cabin,
but Richie didn't have problems with a V6 so I should be okay.
